Texas Salvage YardCheck

How we verify

Texas Salvage Yard Check is compiled from public records, not from who paid to be listed.

Sources

We download TDLR's daily Used Automotive Parts Recycler file and keep licenses whose expiry date is on or after the day we checked and whose business address is in Texas. Each license covers one facility, so a company with several yards appears once per yard.

We also download TDLR's Tow Companies and Vehicle Storage Facilities files. A yard is marked as also holding a tow company certificate (or storage facility license) when its business name or phone number matches one in those files. That match is a convenience, not an official link; confirm with the business.

Expired licenses are simply left out; we never label a named business as unlicensed. A license shows the yard is authorized to operate, not its prices or part quality.

Yards that also hold a tow company certificate are listed first, then alphabetically. We do not rate yards. Featured listings appear in a labelled box and never change the order.

What a badge means

Licensed: the business appears in TDLR's daily Used Automotive Parts Recycler file with an expiry date on or after the day we checked and a Texas business address. We only publish positive matches. A listing without a badge is not an accusation — most gaps are name variations between registries.

Freshness

Data was last refreshed on 2026-10-16. TDLR regenerates its license files every morning; we re-pull them weekly. Confirm current status on TDLR's license search.
